DESCRIPTION:Powell Butte: \nThis place is best ridden early mornings or weekdays due to lots of hikers and horse riders. Be aware of them at all times. Powell Butte has a few decent singletrack trails that are\, however\, not very long\, but can give you a brief rush. There is nothing technical about Powell Butte. Pretty simple stuff here. The singletrack trails (six of them I think) branch from a doubletrack dirt road. \nThis a great introductory trail with no technical twists or turns. \nRecommended: camel back\, extra tube\, pump\, helmet\, snack\, etc. \nPlease arrive as close to on time as possible\, we will rollout at 9:15.

DESCRIPTION:The NW Trail Sisters’ July ride will be outside of Hood River exploring the newest trails in the 44 Trails system. We’ll meet at the Dog River Trailhead and then shuttle up to the top of Upper Cooks Meadow. \nThis ride is open to intermediate+ riders who identify as women/trans/femme or gender NC. This is an intermediate+ ride due to the length (16 miles)\, elevation gain (1K+)\, descent (5K) and technical features. Please respect this skills filter. No one will have a good time if we’re not all physically able to handle the strenuousness of the ride and skilled enough to ride the trail. \nBring a NW Forest Parking Pass! \nSince we’ll be shuttling\, it’s important that folks who are coming register (via Eventbrite) so we can plan out the shuttle vehicles. SUMMARY:Thursdays at the Ridge!
DESCRIPTION:Join the NWTA for a Thursday night ride at Sandy Ridge.  This is a no drop\, intermediate ride\, meaning\, although we won’t be trying to set any PRs\, you should be comfortable climbing a couple thousand feet and riding 10-12 miles and be ready to self-support.  Bring a light\, mechanically sound bike\, helmet\, closed toed shoes and your stoke.  Meet in the parking lot and be ready to ride by 6:00.

SUMMARY:NWTA August Youth Ride @ Stub Stewart
DESCRIPTION:The Northwest Trail Alliance and the Oregon League are excited to continue our NWTA monthly youth rides! These rides are designed to provide a safe space for youth riders to meet and to develop confidence on the trails.  These rides are free\, but we ask that you register at least 24 hours in prior to ride.  The NWTA Youth Rides will be happening monthly through the summer on July 7\, August 4 & September 2. \nAlthough not clinics\, the NWTA youth rides will be led by coaches from the Oregon League and are open to youth of all riding abilities. The NWTA youth rides are generally for teen riders\, however\, younger children with mountain biking experience and who are comfortable riding without their parents are welcome to attend. Please note that because the NWTA youth rides are not clinics participants will have the best time if they have some cursory mountain biking experience. \nPlease bring a mechanically sound mountain bike\, helmet\, closed-toed shoes\, water and snacks. Elbow and knee pads are recommended. \nNWTA will host a corresponding ride for chauffeurs and advanced youth riders. Come ride with us! \nThe Oregon League was founded in 2017 as a non-profit (501(c)(3) Project League of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA). They facilitate the development of high school and middle school teams/clubs for grades 6-12 and provide the education\, training\, licensing\, and insurance for coaches and volunteers. They also produce high-quality mountain bike events and races that emphasize the value of participation\, camaraderie\, positive sporting behavior\, and well-being over competition. \nThe Northwest Trail Alliance is an all-volunteer\, non-profit organization based in Portland\, Oregon. We are one of the Northwest’s leading mountain bike advocacy and trail stewardship groups and we are committed to making mountain biking more accessible and building the NW mountain biking community.
