Join us at Rocky Point for a guided\, nobody left behind (no-drop) ride. \n\n\n\n*Trail Sisters are an inclusive group of folks who are non-binary or identify as women.  \n\n\n\nTo ensure the safety of all riders\, please honestly assess your riding ability before attending. As a beginner rider: \n\n\n\nYou have a basic understanding with the skills of braking\, shifting and riding on uneven\, soft-surface trails.You are comfortable riding beginner to intermediate (Green & some Blue) trails\, but you may walk sections of trails when you come to rocky\, root-y or more technical areas.You have a bike that is in working order that you are comfortable riding.You are able to ride for 1-2 hours with intermittent breaks.\n\n\n\nWhat to bring: \n\n\n\nRequired: \n\n\n\nBike and helmetWaterSnacks\n\n\n\nHighly Suggested- so you are self-sufficient: \n\n\n\nSpare inner tube (even if you are tubeless)Multi-toolFirst Aid Kit\n\n\n\nWaiver: \n\n\n\nOnce registered\, please sign the waiver HERE. \n\n\n\nRocky Point is a property that is leased by NWTA. DESCRIPTION:Mountain Bike Trail Basics & Beyond for Advanced Intermediate Trail Sisters. \n\n\n\n\nregister\n\n\n\n\nAbout this event\n\n\n\nIn partnership with Elaine B. Bikes NWTA presents NW Trail Sister’s event that is open to all who identify as female and non-binary. 18+\, please. \n\n\n\nClass size is limited\, and pre-registration is required. Cost: $10 donation to NWTA\, scholarships available (email elaine.b@elainebbikes.com). \n\n\n\nKNOW YOUR CAPABILITIES \n\n\n\nRider Experience: Intermediate/Advanced with at least 2-4 years of riding on dirt trails
 \n\n\n\nYou are already very comfortable riding a bike on “Blue” and may be riding parts of more technical “Black” trails\, and over most of whatever features come along\, 8-12” high\, at least downhill. You can stand and coast confidently on level pedals for entire sections of trail\, and they can shift gears and corner comfortably. You may be starting to jump and drop some features and want to learn what to do with more technical terrain and build confidence on tricky corners and berms\, and steep sections You can easily ride 2-4 miles or more on a trail or bike path. \n\n\n\nDuring this class: Riders will continue to improve their balance over varying and more technical terrain\, brake and corner even quicker\, and shift before it’s too late. They’ll learn to climb\, descend and ride both faster and at incredibly slow speeds with more confidence. They’ll have more fun riding technical terrain including steep sections\, tricky switchbacks\, technical climbs\, and more.  \n\n\n\nBike: A mountain bike\, preferably full suspension with platform pedals\, two-hand brakes front and back\, a seat that can move up and down\, and is in good working condition. Single speeds are OK but a bike with gears will be more fun on the climbs.  \n\n\n\nRequired Gear:  \n\n\n\n-A properly fitting helmet in good condition and is less than 5 years old. \n\n\n\n-Water bottle and snacks \n\n\n\n-Clothing appropriate for the weather \n\n\n\n-Tools for moving the seat up and down if necessary \n\n\n\n-Pack to carry layers\, snacks\, tools\, and water \n\n\n\nRecommended Gear: \n\n\n\n-Full-fingered gloves \n\n\n\n-Knee and elbow protection \n\n\n\n-Eye protection \n\n\n\n-Tools and supplies to change a flat tire (with assistance!) \n\n\n\nOnce registered\, please sign the waiver HERE \n\n\n\nNWTA follows the current state-mandated protocols.
