DESCRIPTION:Weekly Rocky Point trail build and maintenance day – Registration is Required! \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE\n\n\n\n\nJoin us on Saturdays through the winter and into the spring as we build and maintain the trails at Rocky Point. The “Saturday Sessions” are small-scale work events that are a great place to practice and grow your trail building skills. Come out and help create the future of Mountain Biking in Portland.  \n\n\n\nWhat to Bring \n\n\n\n\nWork clothes: Light long sleeve shirt\, Long Pants (no shorts)\, Boots\, Gloves\, Eye Protection & Gloves\n\n\n\nJacket (be prepared)\n\n\n\nHard hat or bike helmet (mandatory)\n\n\n\nWater\n\n\n\nSnacks \n\n\n\nLunch\n\n\n\nFace Covering as recommended by the CDC (in case we can’t maintain social proper social distancing)\n\n\n\n\nTools will be provided. \n\n\n\nWaiver: Once registered\, please sign the waiver HERE. \n\n\n\n*Rocky Point is a property that is leased by NWTA. SUMMARY:NW Trail Sister's Dig Series: Trail Maintenance at Rocky Point - 4/15
DESCRIPTION:DIG SEASON IS HERE! Are you ready to get dirty? \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE\n\n\n\n\nJoin us at Rocky Point for the fourth and final installment of the NW Trail Sisters Dig Series – Trail Maintenance! We will focus on drainage mitigation and the overall nuts and bolts of trail maintenance.  \n\n\n\nThe dig series is a set of dig days dedicated to skills and confidence building. We have four dig days scheduled at multiple locations where we will cover the ins-and-outs of trail building in a fun and supportive environment. \n\n\n\nWe welcome all women and non-binary folks interested in trail building to join us! No prior digging experience is necessary.  \n\n\n\nWaiver: Once registered\, please sign the waiver HERE. \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: \n\n\n\n\nWarm clothing & extra layers: We will be outside in the cold\, dress warm and bring extra layers.\n\n\n\nRain jacket (and pants if you have them): It’s January in the PNW\, odds are high it’ll rain and that doesn’t stop us from digging! \n\n\n\nGloves (waterproof are best): It wouldn’t hurt to bring an extra pair\, too. Cold hands suck!\n\n\n\nSturdy shoes\n\n\n\nHelmet or hard hat (required)\n\n\n\nEye protection \n\n\n\nWater\n\n\n\nSnacks & lunch\n\n\n\nBike and bike gear for post-digging rips\n\n\n\n\nTOOLS WILL BE PROVIDED. You are not required to bring any tools\, but if you have your own folding saw\, loppers\, rake\, shovel\, or hoe\, feel free to bring it. \n\n\n\nIn accordance with our agreement with Weyerhaeuser\, the land manager of Rocky Point\, those who enter the property must be a NWTA member in good standing and have signed the Rocky Point Waiver . Join NWTA and become one of nearly 6\,000 mountain bikers stewarding trails together in NW Oregon and SW Washington. If the cost of membership creates a financial hardship\, please reach out to us\, we can help with that barrier. \n\n\n\nThese events are very popular and sell out quickly. If you are unable to attend for any reason\, please cancel your registration with AT LEAST 24 hours notice so others on the waitlist have an opportunity to come. \n\n\n\nQuestions? SUMMARY:Earth Day Clean Up and Mountain Bike Ride at Rocky Point - 4/22
DESCRIPTION:Join us to help clean up Rocky Point Rd. We will be doing trash pick-up from the lower shuttle parking lot on HWY 30 to the top shuttle gate (roughly a mile above the trailhead). This is a great opportunity to get outdoors\, meet new people\, and make a positive impact on our environment. \n\n\n\n\nRegister HERE\n\n\n\n\nMeeting Location: We will be meeting at the main entrance point for the trails at the Central Rocky Point Trailhead Parking on Rocky Point Road. \n\n\n\nAddress: 20955\, 23999 Rocky Point Rd\, Scappoose\, OR 97056 \n\n\n\nWhat to Bring: Volunteers should bring work gloves\, shoes\, water\, and sunscreen (being optimistic) and your bike if you plan to ride afterwards. Please dress for the weather. \n\n\n\nWhat’s Provided: Trash bags will be provided. We encourage you to bring a bucket and work gloves to support sustainability efforts. \n\n\n\nRestrooms: A porta potty will be available at this location. \n\n\n\nParking: There is some room to park along the road downhill from the trail entrance. Please park efficiently and angle park as much as possible. Do not park in front of or near entrances or gates. \n\n\n\nTransit: Not available nearby \n\n\n\nAccessibility: This area may not be easily accessible for folks with mobility concerns. \n\n\n\nTranslation Services: There will not be a Spanish speaker present at this event. \n\n\n\nYouth Volunteers: Volunteers 17 and under must be accompanied by an authorized adult. \n\n\n\nGroups: If you are volunteering with multiple people for this event please register as a Team. We will spend half of the day buffing out the machine cut trails\, adding drains and flavor. Then join us as we grill up some lunch\, and get in some shuttle laps of the new trails! \n\n\n\nTIMELINE!!! \n\n\n\n9:00 – 9:30 — Meet at Rocky Point Trailhead & Travel to work site \n\n\n\n9:30 – 1:00 — Work \n\n\n\n1:00 – 2:00 — Lunch \n\n\n\n1:30 – 4:00 — SHUTTLE LAPS!!! \n\n\n\nSCOPE OF WORK!!! \n\n\n\nWe are buffing the trails\, so this will be a lot of rake work and light shaping. We will be getting the trail surface packed in and ready for tires.
