SUMMARY:TSI Trail School at Rocky Point
DESCRIPTION:Northwest Trail Alliance’s Trail Sustainability Institute’s goal is to foster a culture of land stewardship within the mountain bike community. By training people to build sustainable trails\, and by training people to lead crews of trail builders\, we are raising the level of our own stewardship\, and increasing our capacity to build and maintain quality trails. \n\n\n\nTrail School covers the fundamental skills needed to maintain our trails. Participants will be learning safety techniques and tool identification/uses\, as well as hands-on training of corridor clearing\, drainage and benchwork. \n\n\n\nDue to COVID – 19\, we are strictly limiting the number of volunteers. We NEED you to pre-register & sign the online waiver before the event. Day of & non-pre-registered volunteers will be turned away. We have mandatory guidelines for facial coverings and social distancing measures that need to be followed. This will be shared with your registration confirmation. Please understand that this is not only for your safety but for the safety of our entire community. \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\nPlease Sign COVID waiver HERE \n\n\n\nWhat to wear: \n\n\n\nKeep in mind this is an “outdoor classroom” and come prepared to spend the day in the elements. \n\n\n\nFace Covering as recommended by the CDC \n\n\n\n– Work clothes: Light long sleeve shirt\, Long Pants (no shorts)\, Boots\, Gloves\, Eye Protection & Gloves \n\n\n\n– Jacket (be prepared) \n\n\n\n– Hard hat or bike helmet (mandatory) \n\n\n\nWhat to Bring: \n\n\n\n– Water \n\n\n\n– Snacks \n\n\n\n– Lunch. \n\n\n\nAgain with COVID restrictions NWTA work parties will look a bit different and we will not be providing any refreshments or food. Please come prepared. \n\n\n\nPlease Sign COVID Waiver to attend! \n\n\n\n*Rocky Point is property that is leased by NWTA. In order to attend this event (or to access this land)\, you will need to be an NWTA member (JOIN HERE)\, in good standing\, as well as sign the online Rocky Point waiver (WAIVER HERE). \n\n\n\nPlease email NancyS@nw-trail.org with any questions you may have.
