DESCRIPTION:Northwest Trail Alliance’s Trail Sustainability Institute’s goal is to foster a culture of land stewardship within the mountain bike community. By training people to build sustainable trails\, and by training people to lead crews of trail builders\, we are raising the level of our own stewardship\, and increasing our capacity to build and maintain quality trails. \n\n\n\nTrail School covers the fundamental skills needed to maintain our trails. Participants will be learning safety techniques and tool identification/uses\, as well as hands-on training of corridor clearing\, drainage and benchwork. \n\n\n\nDue to COVID – 19\, we are strictly limiting the number of volunteers. DESCRIPTION:Join us while we do our part to clean up our corner of the planet. This Saturday\, April 17th\, we will be picking up the trash alongside Rocky Point Rd in Scappoose. Our objective will be to not only remove trash from the roadside that so many of us travel but to be good neighbors to those who share this area with us and moreover to be even better stewards of our planet. \n\n\n\n\nSign Up here\n\n\n\n\n\nCOVID Waiver\n\n\n\n\nWhen: Saturday\, April 17th from 9:30 – 12:30 We will be starting at 9:30. \n\n\n\nWhere: Rocky Point Central Trailhead (45.696324\, -122.888672) We will be meeting at the kiosk at the main trail head on the south side. Have yourself and gear ready to go by 9:30. We recommend showing up early to ensure we respect each other’s time. \n\n\n\nWho: YOU! Our NWTA community is invited to join us in giving back to our planet. \n\n\n\nWhat: (to bring) Bright clothes! We will be roadside\, make sure you are HIGHLY VISIBLE. Gloves and sturdy shoes. Due to Covid restrictions\, NWTA cannot provide food and drinks. Bring plenty of snacks and water. Garbage bags will be provided! \n\n\n\nWhy: It is important to NWTA to be good stewards of our environment and the places where we recreate. We wholly believe that Earth Day is Everyday but that it is also a reminder to step up our actions and encourage others to do the same. \n\n\n\nHow: We will be able to have this clean up day because we all will be taking incredible precautions to keep each other safe. NWTA’s Covid-19 protocol is to keep 6′ of distance between each other and to wear a mask when you are within 20 ft of each other. That looks like a lot of mask wearing. DESCRIPTION:Join us while we do our part to clean up our beloved Rocky Point Trails. Sunday\, May 23rd\, we will be picking up the garbage that was inherited when we signed the Rocky Point lease. Our objective will be to remove trash at the top of Base Camp (family trails)\, the parking lot and along Rocky Point Road. We will have THREE staggered times\, at 9 am\, 10 am and 11 am. \n\n\n\n\nGroup a – 9 am\n\n\n\nGroup B – 10 am\n\n\n\nGroup C – 11 AM\n\n\n\n\nWhen: Sunday\, May 23rd from 9:00 – 12:00 and 10:00 – 1:00 (additional sign ups may be added based on interest) \n\n\n\nWhere: Rocky Point Central Trailhead (45.696324\, -122.888672) We will be meeting at the kiosk at the main trail head on the south side. Have yourself and gear ready to go by 9am or 10am depending on the group you registered for. We recommend showing up early to ensure we respect each other’s time. \n\n\n\nWho: YOU! Our NWTA community is invited to join us in giving back to our trails and our planet. This is a family friendly event. We encourage families to join in. It’s important to show our youth the importance of caring for the environment.  \n\n\n\nWhat: (to bring) Bright clothes! We will be cleaning up the parking area\, roadside and near machinery. Make sure you are HIGHLY VISIBLE. We are picking up garbage\, keep safe by wearing gloves and sturdy shoes. Due to Covid restrictions\, NWTA cannot provide food and drinks. Bring plenty of snacks and water. Garbage bags will be provided! \n\n\n\nWhy: It is important to NWTA to be good stewards of our environment and the places where we recreate. Keeping these places clean and natural reflects the values of our organization and the values of our members.  \n\n\n\nHow: We will be able to have this clean up day because we all will be taking incredible precautions to keep each other safe. NWTA’s Covid-19 protocol is to keep 6′ of distance between each other and to wear a mask when you are within 20 ft of each other. That looks like a lot of mask wearing.
