DESCRIPTION:Join us at Rocky Point for the first installment of the NW Trail Sister’s Dig Series – Trail Fundamentals\, sponsored by Cyclepath PDX! \nREGISTER HERE. \nDIG SEASON IS HERE! Are you ready to get dirty? \nWe are excited to announce the Trail Sisters Dig Series\, a set of dig days dedicated to skills and confidence building. We have four dig days scheduled at multiple locations where we will cover the ins-and-outs of trail building in a fun and supportive environment. \nJoin us at Rocky Point for the first installment of the Dig Series – Trail Fundamentals. This first event will focus on tool identification and use\, corridor clearing\, drainage mitigation\, and the overall nuts and bolts of trail maintenance. Cyclepath PDX will be sponsoring the event\, providing post-dig food\, drinks\, and (weather permitting) shuttles! \nWe welcome all women and non-binary folks interested in trail building to join us! No prior digging experience is necessary. \nWaiver: Once registered\, please sign the waiver HERE. \nWhat to bring: \n\nWarm clothing & extra layers: We will be outside in the cold\, dress warm and bring extra layers.\nRain jacket (and pants if you have them): It’s January in the PNW\, odds are high it’ll rain and that doesn’t stop us from digging!\nGloves (waterproof are best): It wouldn’t hurt to bring an extra pair\, too. Cold hands suck!\nSturdy shoes\nHelmet or hard hat (required)\nEye protection\nWater\nSnacks & lunch\nBike & bike gear for post-dig riding\n\nTOOLS WILL BE PROVIDED. You are not required to bring any tools\, but if you have your own folding saw\, loppers\, rake\, shovel\, or hoe\, feel free to bring it. \nIn accordance with our agreement with Weyerhaeuser\, the land manager of Rocky Point\, those who enter the property must be a NWTA member in good standing and have signed the Rocky Point Waiver. Join NWTA and become one of nearly 6\,000 mountain bikers stewarding trails together in NW Oregon and SW Washington. If the cost of membership creates a financial hardship\, please reach out to us\, we can help with that barrier. \nThese events are very popular and sell out quickly. We will cover three main maintenance practices for any mountain bike: Suspension\, Tubeless Tires\, and Drivetrain. \nIf you are like most of us; you have questions regarding these topics. This is the clinic to get answers to ALL of your questions! \nThis clinic is for EVERYONE! \nREGISTER HERE. \nBYOB- Bring Your Own Bike (the beer is on us!) \nHave you ever spent time dialing in your suspension to your weight and riding style? What is rebound? What is compression dampening? What air pressure should you run? We can help! Whether you are riding SRAM or Fox\, we can advise and help you set your squish up to its maximum potential! \nHaving trouble with your tubeless tires? Do you want to learn some tricks and techniques to set it up and maintain it? We can help! \nIs your bike always squeaking or constantly being neglected? We can show you some quick after-ride habits that can help prolong the life of your chain and get you back on the trail faster on your next trip. \n*Space is limited* We ask that you keep your commitment and show up.
