This first event will focus on tool identification and use\, corridor clearing\, drainage mitigation\, and the overall nuts and bolts of trail maintenance. Two current Board members\, Nell Stamper and Scooter Sutterer\, will be presented for re-election; and we’re beyond excited to present to our membership three additional Board members for our all-volunteer\, working Board: Chloe Hammond-Bradley\, Will Heiberg\, and Charlie Kohlmeier. Join us as well to thank Colin Marthaller and Owen Rodabaugh\, who are concluding their time serving on the NWTA Board.  We look forward to their continued volunteer work with NWTA moving forward\, and seeing them out on the trails! \nWe had an incredibly strong reception to our call for board applications\, it was amazing to see so many people wanting to serve the NWTA mountain bike community. St. Helens National Monument. \n\n\n\nDue to our partnership with the US Forest Service & The Mt. St. Helens Institue\, we are allowed to camp overnight (primitive) from June 2nd – June 4th at The Coldwater Lake Learning Center this is a change from years past due to the recent landslide on HWY 504.  \n\n\n\nPlease note that the space for campers is limited. There are also no water or dump facilities at the campsite. DESCRIPTION:NWTA Friday Night MTB Lights Night Ride at Stub Stewart State Park \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\nThis is a “no drop” ride. Be ready to roll at 6:15. This ride also requires a special use permit in addition to the parking fee. The special use permit will be handed out before the start of the ride for display in your vehicle. \n\n\n\nA good riding light is required. Two are recommended\, one for your bars and one for your helmet. \n\n\n\nIf you don’t have lights and would like to try night riding\, we have several sets to try out which are donated by our sponsors Metropolis Cycles\, Trek\, and BTI. Email sidsbike2020@gmail.com to reserve a set. \n\n\n\nTypical ride is climb up to Unfit Settlement\, then ride Shoofly\, optional Williams Creek Loop\, then back to Hilltop. This is around 8 miles with about 1\,000 feet of elevation gain. This is about a 1.5 to 2 hour ride. You should be comfortable riding berms and flow trails for this ride and be in reasonable shape. \n\n\n\nTypical Ride \n\n\n\nSign this waiver to participate \n\n\n\nEvents like these are made possible through NWTA membership dollars and NWTA volunteer work on the trails at Stub Stewart State Park. If you are not a member or need to renew\, please do sohere so we can continue to spread the love! Please consider volunteering at upcoming work parties as well. \n\n\n\n*IMPORTANT* These events fill quickly and may have a waitlist of people hoping to join. It is imperative that you stand by your commitment and SHOW UP. DESCRIPTION:This event merges trail work\, group rides\, and camping\, making for a memorable MTB social event. —Building community as we build trail \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\nObjective: To build a new trail in the Columbia Gorge near Cascade Locks. When completed it will be a 15-mile trail that winds its way through an amazing forest on Forest Service land.  \n\n\n\nMeeting Location: Wyeth Campground next to the Wyeth Trailhead at 750 Herman Creek Rd. Cascade Locks\, OR 97014. \n\n\n\nAll ages and skill levels are welcome. \n\n\n\nAll MINOR Participants: Must complete the additional form & email the completed form to nathaniel.brodie@usda.gov in at least 7 days in advance of the work party: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QQ1SjWhRSHDS82_gBpR2CgqRWE0K2GUm/view?usp=sharing \n\n\n\nBikes are not necessary for the work party\, but you are welcome to bring them if you want to ride the trails afterward.
