If you don’t have a day pass\, you will need to purchase one for $5 at the kiosk near the restrooms. \n\n\n\nTrail work will last approximately 4 hours\, wrapping up at 2:00. DESCRIPTION:Join us and our friends at Portland Parks & Recreation & partners Hands on Greater Portland for a fun day of trail work at Powell Butte. \n\n\n\n\nPOSTPONED\n\n\n\n\nJoin NWTA\, Portland Parks & Recreation\, and partners Hands on Greater Portland for a day of trail work at Powell Butte. \n\n\n\nWhere to Meet \n\n\n\nThis event has been postponed due to the weather forecast and will be rescheduled at a later date. \n\n\n\nScope of Work \n\n\n\nNo experience is necessary\, and all ages are welcome! All volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian present and sign our waiver forms. \n\n\n\nWear sturdy\, close-toed shoes\, long pants\, and long-sleeved shirts. Bring rain gear and/or sun gear\, a hat\, a filled water bottle\, and snacks. Bring gloves if you have a pair and prefer to use your own. Instruction\, tools\, and gloves are otherwise provided. \n\n\n\nYou will walk up to 5 miles from the meeting location and restrooms\, so please be ready to hike. No experience is required. Trail Sisters are women and non-binary folks who love to support each other both on and off the trail. \n\n\n\nThe dig will run from 9:30 am to 1 pm. Help build and maintain the amazing trails of the Rocky Point Trail System. \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\nCome join us as we continue work on HONKERS!Backup plan (depending on weather and dirt conditions) is to continue work on new descent traill — name TBD. \n\n\n\nMeeting Location Rocky Point Mid Gate / 20955\, 23999 Rocky Point Rd\, Scappoose\, OR 97056 \n\n\n\nRocky Point Road is closed from 30 to the main lot. You will need to take Skyline and drive down Rocky Point Road to the main lot to avoid the closure. \n\n\n\nSummary of work goalsIf the Skeet Chute clear cut isn’t too wet\, we will be working on a new black descent (Honkers) that has already been roughed in. There is some debris to still be cleared\, some minor benching\, some berms to build\, and general tuning of the line. \n\n\n\nIf the clear cut is too wet\, we will work on clearing corridor for another new descent farther in RP. \n\n\n\nSpecific work focus• General improvement of roughed in line / debris clearing as needed \n\n\n\nTools needed• Shovels \n\n\n\n• Hoes \n\n\n\n• Steel Rakes / Sturdy rock rakes • Hand saws \n\n\n\nGear SuggestionsThe clear cut is very steep and slippery from recent snow/rain. Sturdy hiking soles will help with traction. Be prepared for mud and make sure you wear good gloves. Grab your shovels\, buckets\, and enthusiasm\, and get ready to uncover the mysteries of Klootchy Creek! \n\n\n\nDon’t miss out on this exciting event! Mark your calendars and join us for an unforgettable day of digging and discovery at Klootchy Creek County Park! \n\n\n\n10am – 3 pm at Klootchy Creek Park \n\n\n\nTrail work will last approximately 5 hours\, wrapping up at 3:00. \n\n\n\nWhat To Bring: \n\n\n\nYour bike (optional) \n\n\n\nWork clothes: Light long sleeve shirt\, Long Pants (no shorts)\, Boots\, Gloves\, Eye Protection & Gloves \n\n\n\nJacket (be prepared) \n\n\n\nHard hat or bike helmet (mandatory) \n\n\n\nWater \n\n\n\nSnacks \n\n\n\nLunch \n\n\n\nFavorite trail tool\, McLeod or Rouge Hoe (We have tools\, but please feel free to bring your own if you are more comfortable with your own). \n\n\n\nOptional: Folding Handsaw \n\n\n\nSafety meeting promptly starts at 10 am. Please arrive 15-20 early to ensure that you are adequately checked in. This in-person event is perfect for nature enthusiasts\, families\, and anyone who loves to work in the great outdoors. \n\n\n\nWhether you’re a seasoned volunteer or a first-timer\, our experienced leads will be there to assist you throughout the day. \n\n\n\n10am – 3pm \n\n\n\nMeet at the far end of the Hill Top parking lot. \n\n\n\nTrail work will last approximately 5 hours\, wrapping up at 3:00. We will ride bikes and have beer afterwards. \n\n\n\nWhat To Bring: \n\n\n\nBe prepared to possibly hike through some muddy trails due to thinning activities. \n\n\n\nWork clothes: Light long sleeve shirt\, Long Pants (no shorts)\, Boots\, Gloves\, Eye Protection & Gloves \n\n\n\nJacket (be prepared) \n\n\n\nHard hat or bike helmet (mandatory) \n\n\n\nWater \n\n\n\nSnacks \n\n\n\nBike – We will bike into the Free Ride area\, expect there to be some hike a bike. \n\n\n\nSafety meeting promptly starts at 10 am. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure that you are adequately checked in.
