Do you really enjoy green-level trails or are you newer to mountain biking and looking to ride with other women/non-binary riders? This is your ride! \n\n\n\nJoin us at Sandy Ridge for an evening of exploring trails. This is a no-drop ride\, meaning no one is left behind. We are here to cheer each other on and have a lot of fun! \n\n\n\nAssessing your skill level is the best way to ensure you and the people around you will have a good time. As a beginner/green level (not novice) rider\, you should be familiar with your bike; how to shift\, brake\, and overall ride your bike on uneven terrain. DESCRIPTION:Join NWTA’s Trail Sisters & Metropolis Adventure Team for a guided ride on the spectacular Falls Creek trail. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJoin the Trail Sisters of Metropolis Adventure Team for a day in the Gifford Pinchot to experience this gem of a Washington trail. We will shuttle to Oldman Pass\, connecting to McCLellan Meadows and then to Falls Creek Trail for a partial loop. We divide into groups based on ability\, fitness\, and riding goals. All groups will have the opportunity to session technical parts of the climbs and descents. There are many great snacking spots with a view\, as well as some geological features unique to the Gifford Pinchot. Bring your sense of adventure and join us for a day on the trail! \n\n\n\nPlease assess your riding skills honestly. This ride requires fitness and technical skills. The trails we will ride are rated blue on Trailforks. If you enjoy riding 44 Trails area\, Roger’s camp\, Tiger Mountain\, or can comfortably ride a couple of loops (to the top and down again) at Sandy Ridge or Post Canyon\, this will be a good fit for you. Feel free to reach out and inquire whether this ride is for you! We want everyone to be safe\, relaxed\, and have a good time. \n\n\n\nThere will be a riverside BBQ afterwards hosted by Metropolis Cycle Repair. Stay for a beverage\, food\, or just spend time to chat with the other participants and make more ride plans! Make sure to bring your camp chair. \n\n\n\nWe are not meeting at an established trailhead\, please use these coordinates to get to our meeting spot: 45.922321\, -121.947033 on Wind River Road. Expect spotty cell phone service in this area. \n\n\n\nWhat: Trail Sisters Guided Falls Creek Ride lead by members of Metropolis Adventure Team; Intermediate to Advanceskill level ride \n\n\n\nRide is 23 miles and 1\,500 ft of technical and punchy climbing; descending is technical with roots and rocks and some exposure \n\n\n\nWhen: September 21st (9:00-9:30 shuttle organization and ride by 10:00; expect to be on the trail for 5 hours (3 pm) and hang out afterwards) \n\n\n\nWhere: Wind River Road dropped pin at creek crossing \n\n\n\nWho: Trail Sisters\, non-binary\, and trans Trail Sisters welcome! \n\n\n\nHow: Please bring what you need to ride for a long day (comfortable riding clothes\, snacks\, sandwich\, water\, sunscreen\, repair kit\, tube\, helmet\, gloves\, etc.). DESCRIPTION:register here\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJoin Trail Sisters for a ride through Forest Park the morning after Thanksgiving! \n\n\n\nThis ride is open to women; cis\, trans\, nonbinary. \n\n\n\nMeet: \n\n\n\nAt Fat Tire Farm at 10 a.m. and roll out by 10:30 a.m. (If you drive\, please don’t park in the FTF lot.) \n\n\n\nBring: \n\n\n\nA gravel/cyclocross bike with knobby 35c/40c tires for maximum fun\, but hardtail mountain bikes are also great for this terrain. Full suspension mountain bikes might be a bit heavy\, but bring what ya got! \n\n\n\nAlso\, bring the standard stuff to keep you safe and comfy: helmet\, gloves\, layers\, fenders\, water\, snacks\, clear-lens glasses. \n\n\n\nRide: \n\n\n\nAbout 1\,400 ft of climbing over about 16 miles. This is a no-drop ride but there may be groups that split up a little depending on who’s feeling peppy and who’s feeling chill 🙂 We will always regroup at natural stopping points. \n\n\n\nRoute on Ride With GPS: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/49006426 \n\n\n\nSocialize: \n\n\n\nOptional (but highly encouraged) post-ride hang sesh at St Honore. And how to adjust your macros for different training days\n\n\n\nNutrient timing: what to eat pre\, during\, and post exercise\, with examples\n\n\n\nHydration\n\n\n\nTips to optimize performance: energy availability\, carbohydrate timing\, labwork\, and supplements\n\n\n\nHow fueling off the bike is just as important as on the bike.\n\n\n\nWhat does your relationship with food look like?\n\n\n\nFood celebration!
