SUMMARY:NWTA September Youth Ride @ Silver Falls
DESCRIPTION:The Northwest Trail Alliance is excited to continue our NWTA monthly youth rides! These rides are designed to provide a safe space for youth riders to meet and to develop confidence on the trails.  These rides are free\, but we ask that you register at least 24 hours in prior to ride. \nAlthough not clinics\, the NWTA youth rides will be led by experienced mountain bike enthusiasts and are open to youth of all riding abilities. The NWTA youth rides are generally for teen riders\, however\, younger children with mountain biking experience and who are comfortable riding without their parents are welcome to attend. Please note that because the NWTA youth rides are not clinics participants will have the best time if they have some cursory mountain biking experience. \nPlease bring a mechanically sound mountain bike\, helmet\, closed-toed shoes\, water and snacks. Elbow and knee pads are recommended. \nNWTA will host a corresponding ride for chauffeurs and advanced youth riders. SUMMARY:Stub Stewart Trail Work Party - Sat Sept 29
DESCRIPTION:In partnership with Trailkeepers of Oregon\, NWTA is co-hosting a trail work party at LL Stub Stewart State Park to realign the Williams Creek Horseshoe trail – transforming it from an old\, overgrown logging road into an undulating\, creekside multi-use trail for hikers\, equestrians\, and mountain bikers. \nThe realignment follows the contours of Williams Creek south of the Banks Vernonia State Trail and offers beautiful creek views.  The Williams Creek Horseshoe realignment project will provide a cross-country trail riding alternative to the paved BVST between the Shoofly MTB trailhead and the Buxton BVST trailhead. \nWork Party Logistics: \n8:30am – 3:30pm Saturday September 29 \nMeet at Stub Stewart Vistor Center Parking Lot \nVolunteers will be clearing brush and duff along the flagged corridor and benching in new trail along a pin-flagged route. \nRegistration: \nVolunteers should sign up via the Trailkeepers of Oregon Eventbite site below\, and direct questions to David Rogers at StubStewart@nw-trail.org. \nhttps://www.eventbrite.com/e/stub-new-trail-party-nwta-tko-event-registration-49513637623
