Are you ready to get dirty? \n\n\n\nJoin us at Klootchy Creek for the third installment of the NW Trail Sisters Dig Series – Trail Maintenance! We are still finalizing the projects we’ll be working on\, but we can promise you won’t want to miss this one! Specialized will be providing post-dig food + drinks.  \n\n\n\nThe dig series is a set of dig days dedicated to skills and confidence building. We have four dig days scheduled at multiple locations where we will cover the ins-and-outs of trail building in a fun and supportive environment. \n\n\n\nWe welcome all women and non-binary folks interested in trail building to join us! No prior digging experience is necessary.  \n\n\n\nWaiver: Once registered\, please sign the waiver HERE. \n\n\n\nA﻿lso\, to access Lewis and Clark Timberlands (Klootchy Creek trail system) you’ll need this FREE\, required permit.  \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: \n\n\n\n\nWarm clothing & extra layers: We will be outside in the cold\, dress warm and bring extra layers.\n\n\n\nRain jacket (and pants if you have them): It’s January in the PNW\, odds are high it’ll rain and that doesn’t stop us from digging! \n\n\n\nGloves (waterproof are best): It wouldn’t hurt to bring an extra pair\, too. Cold hands suck!\n\n\n\nSturdy shoes\n\n\n\nHelmet or hard hat (required)\n\n\n\nEye protection \n\n\n\nWater\n\n\n\nSnacks & lunch\n\n\n\nB﻿ike and bike gear for post-digging rips\n\n\n\n\nTOOLS WILL BE PROVIDED. You are not required to bring any tools\, but if you have your own folding saw\, loppers\, rake\, shovel\, or hoe\, feel free to bring it. \n\n\n\nJoin NWTA and become one of nearly 6\,000 mountain bikers stewarding trails together in NW Oregon and SW Washington. Participants will be learning safety techniques and tool identification/uses\, as well as hands-on training of corridor clearing\, drainage\, tread repair and benchwork.  \n\n\n\nNorthwest Trail Alliance’s Trail Sustainability Institute’s goal is to foster a culture of land stewardship within the mountain bike community. DESCRIPTION:NWTA Friday Night MTB Lights Night Ride at Stub Stewart State Park \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\nThis is a “no drop” ride. Be ready to roll at 6:15. This ride also requires a special use permit in addition to the parking fee. The special use permit will be handed out before the start of the ride for display in your vehicle. \n\n\n\nA good riding light is required. Two are recommended\, one for your bars and one for your helmet. \n\n\n\nIf you don’t have lights and would like to try night riding\, we have several sets to try out which are donated by our sponsors Metropolis Cycles\, Trek\, and BTI. Email sidsbike2020@gmail.com to reserve a set. \n\n\n\nTypical ride is climb up to Unfit Settlement\, then ride Shoofly\, optional Williams Creek Loop\, then back to Hilltop. This is around 8 miles with about 1\,000 feet of elevation gain. This is about a 1.5 to 2 hour ride. You should be comfortable riding berms and flow trails for this ride and be in reasonable shape. \n\n\n\nTypical Ride \n\n\n\nSign this waiver to participate \n\n\n\nEvents like these are made possible through NWTA membership dollars and NWTA volunteer work on the trails at Stub Stewart State Park. If you are not a member or need to renew\, please do sohere so we can continue to spread the love! Please consider volunteering at upcoming work parties as well. \n\n\n\n*IMPORTANT* These events fill quickly and may have a waitlist of people hoping to join.
