Participants will be learning safety techniques and tool identification/uses\, as well as hands-on training of corridor clearing\, drainage\, tread repair and benchwork. \n\n\n\nNorthwest Trail Alliance’s Trail Sustainability Institute’s goal is to foster a culture of land stewardship within the mountain bike community. No experience is required. Trail Sisters are women and non-binary folks who love to support each other both on and off the trail. \n\n\n\nThe dig will run from 9:30 am to 1 pm. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure that you are adequately checked in. This in-person event is perfect for nature enthusiasts\, families\, and anyone who loves adventure. Discover hidden treasures\, unearth fossils\, and learn about the rich history of this beautiful park. \n\n\n\nWhether you’re a seasoned digger or a first-timer\, our experienced leads will be there to assist you throughout the day. Grab your shovels\, buckets\, and enthusiasm\, and get ready to uncover the mysteries of Sandy Ridge! \n\n\n\nDon’t miss out on this exciting event! Mark your calendars and join us for an unforgettable day of digging and discovery at Sandy Ridge! \n\n\n\n9am – 3 pm at Sandy Ridge Trailhead \n\n\n\nTrail work will last approximately 5 hours\, wrapping up at 3:00. \n\n\n\nWhat To Bring: \n\n\n\nYour bike (optional) \n\n\n\nWork clothes: Light long sleeve shirt\, Long Pants (no shorts)\, Boots\, Gloves\, Eye Protection & Gloves \n\n\n\nJacket (be prepared) \n\n\n\nHard hat or bike helmet (mandatory) \n\n\n\nWater \n\n\n\nSnacks \n\n\n\nLunch \n\n\n\nFavorite trail tool\, McLeod or Rouge Hoe (We have tools\, but please feel free to bring your own if you are more comfortable with your own). \n\n\n\nOptional: Folding Handsaw \n\n\n\nSafety meeting promptly starts at 9 am. Please arrive 15-20 early to ensure that you are adequately checked in.
