DESCRIPTION:Due to the weather\, the NW Trail Sister’s Dig Series at Klootchy Creek has been canceled. We are planning on rescheduling it. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoin us for the third installment of the NW Trail Sister’s Dig Series – Trail Maintenance! \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\nDIG SEASON IS HERE! Are you ready to get dirty? \n\n\n\nJoin us at Klootchy Creek for the third installment of the NW Trail Sisters Dig Series – Trail Maintenance! We are still finalizing the projects we’ll be working on\, but we can promise you won’t want to miss this one! Specialized will be providing post-dig food + drinks.  \n\n\n\nThe dig series is a set of dig days dedicated to skills and confidence building. We have four dig days scheduled at multiple locations where we will cover the ins-and-outs of trail building in a fun and supportive environment. \n\n\n\nWe welcome all women and non-binary folks interested in trail building to join us! No prior digging experience is necessary.  \n\n\n\nWaiver: Once registered\, please sign the waiver HERE. \n\n\n\nAlso\, to access Lewis and Clark Timberlands (Klootchy Creek trail system) you’ll need this FREE\, required permit.  \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: \n\n\n\n\nWarm clothing & extra layers: We will be outside in the cold\, dress warm and bring extra layers.\n\n\n\nRain jacket (and pants if you have them): It’s January in the PNW\, odds are high it’ll rain and that doesn’t stop us from digging! \n\n\n\nGloves (waterproof are best): It wouldn’t hurt to bring an extra pair\, too. Cold hands suck!\n\n\n\nSturdy shoes\n\n\n\nHelmet or hard hat (required)\n\n\n\nEye protection \n\n\n\nWater\n\n\n\nSnacks & lunch\n\n\n\nBike and bike gear for post-digging rips\n\n\n\n\nTOOLS WILL BE PROVIDED. You are not required to bring any tools\, but if you have your own folding saw\, loppers\, rake\, shovel\, or hoe\, feel free to bring it. \n\n\n\nJoin NWTA and become one of nearly 6\,000 mountain bikers stewarding trails together in NW Oregon and SW Washington. If the cost of membership creates a financial hardship\, please reach out to us\, we can help with that barrier. \n\n\n\nThese events are very popular and sell out quickly. If you are unable to attend for any reason\, please cancel your registration with AT LEAST 24 hours notice so others on the waitlist have an opportunity to come. \n\n\n\nQuestions? DESCRIPTION:Come out and help keep the Klootchy Creek trails running smooth – Registration is Required! \n\n\n\n\nregister here\n\n\n\n\nMeet up in the Klootchy parking lot at 9:45 for safety brief and planning session. \n\n\n\nWe’ll be taking on some brushing\, tread maintenance\, and checking drainage after the first big rain of the season. We will be working behind the locked gate and will leave the parking lot as a group at 10\, so if you are running late\, please call or text Nell at 703-638-4626 so we can make alternate arrangements. \n\n\n\nWhat to Bring \n\n\n\n\nWork clothes: Light long sleeve shirt\, Long Pants (no shorts)\, Boots\, Gloves\, Eye Protection & Gloves\n\n\n\nJacket (be prepared)\n\n\n\nHard hat or bike helmet (mandatory)\n\n\n\nWater\n\n\n\nSnacks \n\n\n\nLunch\n\n\n\nFace Covering as recommended by the CDC (in case we can’t maintain social proper social distancing)\n\n\n\n\nTools will be provided. \n\n\n\nWaiver: Once registered\, please sign the waiver HERE. \n\n\n\nQuestions: call or text Nell at 703-638-4626\, or email nells@nw-trail.org
