DESCRIPTION:Join us for the second installment of the NW Trail Sister’s Dig Series: Trail Maintenance sponsored by Fat Tire Farm! \nREGISTER HERE. \nDIG SEASON IS HERE! Are you ready to get dirty? \nJoin us at Sandy Ridge for the second installment of the NW Trail Sisters Dig Series – Trail Maintenance. We will focus on drainage mitigation\, tread improvement and the overall nuts and bolts of trail maintenance. If that doesn’t sound like enough fun\, Fat Tire Farm will be providing post-dig eats\, drinks\, and shuttles (yup – you read correctly\, SHUTTLES). \nThe dig series is a set of dig days dedicated to skills and confidence building. We have four digs scheduled at multiple locations where we will cover the ins-and-outs of trail building in a fun and supportive environment. \nWe welcome all women and non-binary folks interested in trail building to join us! No prior digging experience is necessary. \nWaiver: Once registered\, please sign the waiver HERE. \nWhat to bring: \n\nWarm clothing & extra layers: We will be outside in the cold\, dress warm and bring extra layers.\nRain jacket (and pants if you have them): It’s January in the PNW\, odds are high it’ll rain and that doesn’t stop us from digging!\nGloves (waterproof are best): It wouldn’t hurt to bring an extra pair\, too. Cold hands suck!\nSturdy shoes\nHelmet or hard hat (required)\nEye protection\nWater\nSnacks & lunch\n\nTOOLS WILL BE PROVIDED. You are not required to bring any tools\, but if you have your own folding saw\, loppers\, rake\, shovel\, or hoe\, feel free to bring it. \nThese events are made possible by NWTA membership dollars. Join NWTA and become one of nearly 6\,000 mountain bikers stewarding trails together in NW Oregon and SW Washington. \nThese events are very popular and sell out quickly. DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday 02/25 to do some needed trail work at Powell Butte. \n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE\n\n\n\n\nAll ages & trail maintenance skill levels are welcome! \n\n\n\nWhere to Meet \n\n\n\nEllis Street Trailhead: 5608 SE 145th Avenue\, Portland\, OR 97236 \n\n\n\nScope of Work \n\n\n\nJoin Portland Parks & Recreation staff and community volunteers in completing important trail work projects on Powell Butte. We will continue the turnpike trail work and hopefully get to some work on Douglas Fir trail.  \n\n\n\nNo experience necessary! Youth participants must be at least age 14\, and all volunteers aged 14-17 must have a parent or guardian sign our youth waiver forms. \n\n\n\nWear sturdy close-toed shoes\, long pants\, and long-sleeved shirts. Bring rain gear and/or sun gear\, a hat\, a filled water bottle\, and snacks. Bring gloves if you have a pair and prefer to use your own. Instruction\, tools and gloves otherwise provided.  \n\n\n\nYou will be walking up to 5 miles away from the meeting location and restrooms\, so please be ready to hike.
