SUMMARY:NW Trail Sisters Beginner Ride - Sandy Ridge 8/31
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Tuesday 8/31 at the Sandy Ridge trail system for a women’s beginner-friendly mountain bike ride. \n\n\n\n*note: beginner does not mean novice. If you have basic bike handling skills\, are comfortable riding on single track that will present rocks\, roots and off-camber surfaces\, this ride is for you.  \n\n\n\nThe ride will promptly begin at 5:30pm and conclude by 7:30pm. This a no drop beginner ride and we will regroup often to ensure everyone is safe and having fun. \n\n\n\nBe ready to roll with your bike and gear at 5:30pm. If you’re uncertain about your bike show up at 5:00 pm and one of our volunteers can make minor adjustments for fit and function \n\n\n\nThe Sandy Ridge Trail System is located at 62700 E Barlow Trail Rd\, Brightwood\, OR 97011. \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: \n\n\n\nMask / Face Covering \n\n\n\nMountain Bike \n\n\n\nHelmet \n\n\n\nLayers – this is Oregon\, ride will happen rain or shine! \n\n\n\nMinimum 1 – 2 liters of water in bottles or better yet a Hydration Pack. \n\n\n\nSnacks – easy to eat & for you to digest. \n\n\n\nRegarding COVID 19: We are concerned with rising positive cases in our community. The state of Oregon mandates that everyone\, regardless of vaccination status\, must wear a mask/face-covering when distancing of 6 feet is not possible. \n\n\n\nNorthwest Trail Alliance is the local trail stewardship and advocacy group that cares for the trails at Sandy Ridge in partnership with the Bureau of Land Management. Our mission is to advocate for new trails\, to protect\, improve & build sustainable mountain bike trails\, and to create recreation opportunities for mountain biking. Join us! DESCRIPTION:Meet at the Sandy Ridge Trail System Parking Lot at 8:30 am! \n\n\n\nSign the WAIVER in the confirmation email \n\n\n\nDue to COVID – 19\, we are strictly limiting the number of volunteers. We NEED you to pre-register & sign the online waiver before the event. Day of & non-pre-registered volunteers will be turned away. We have mandatory guidelines for facial coverings and social distancing measures that need to be followed. This will be shared with your registration confirmation. Please understand that this is not only for your safety but for the safety of our entire community. \n\n\n\nNo dogs\, please. \n\n\n\nBring: \n\n\n\n– Face Covering as recommended by the CDC \n\n\n\n– Work clothes: Light long sleeve shirt\, Long Pants (no shorts)\, Boots\, Gloves\, Eye Protection & Gloves \n\n\n\n– Jacket (be prepared) \n\n\n\n– Hard hat or bike helmet (mandatory)\, \n\n\n\n– Water \n\n\n\n– Snacks \n\n\n\n– Lunch. \n\n\n\nAgain\, with COVID restrictions\, NWTA work parties will look a bit different\, and we will not be providing any refreshments or food.
