DIG DAY — Powell Butte – 10/19

October 19 @ 9:00 am 1:00 pm

Trail building opportunity in the City of Portland!

Join Portland Parks & Recreation staff and NWTA volunteers in completing important trail work projects at Powell Butte on Saturday 10/19/2024 (9:00 am-1:00 pm) . No experience necessary! Youth participants must be at least age 14.

We will be benching a section of the trail: using trail tools such as grubbers, McLeod’s and shovels to level and widen the trail. We also will be clearing and adding drains for water to get off the trail in preparation for the wet season, along with improving wet or muddy sections of trail.

Wear sturdy close-toed shoes, long pants, and long-sleeved shirts. Bring rain gear and/or sun gear, a hat, a filled water bottle, and snacks. Instruction, tools and gloves otherwise provided. You will be walking up to 2 miles away from the meeting location and restrooms, so please be ready to hike. Be sure to arrive on time, or you may miss the group. If you are running late, please contact Portland Parks at the info below for guidance to the group.

Time: 9am-1pm

Meeting location: 5607 SE 145th Ave
