Saw Certification Course – 10/7-9

US Forest Service, along with many other land managers NWTA partners with, require certified saw operators to address any downed tree over 5 inches in diameter. During this 3-day saw certification training course you will receive a certification allowing you to operate a saw when appropriate during trail work days. USFS assigns different saw certification levels: “A” sawyers are apprentice sawyers who may saw only in the least complex situations.  “B” sawyers are intermediate sawyers who are allowed to operate in moderately complex situations.  “C” sawyers are advanced saw operators who may operate in highly complex situations. This course gives operators an “A” level certification that is valid for 3 years from the period of issuance. All certified sawyers must also have current, valid First Aid/CPR training.
