Thanks to everyone that signed up this event is now full! Another work party is schedule for December 2nd if you weren’t able to get in on this one.

November 4th Sandy Ridge Trail Work

Autumn is here and it’s time to get back the trails back in shape after a long hot summer. We’ll be repairing tread, filling holes, clearing drains, raking off fallen leaves, and whatever else needs doing to keep the trails running well during the wet season.

Work Party Logistics:

Who: Newbies and non-members are welcome; tools are provided. Hardy kids who don’t mind potentially bad weather are invited as we often have a good group of them and will find some tasks for them to work on together.

When: 9:00am – 2:00pm Sunday, November 4th 2018

NOTE: Early the morning of the 4th is when daylight savings ends so remember to update your clocks or you’ll arrive an hour early.

Where: Meet at the Sandy Ridge Trailhead Parking lot.https://goo.gl/maps/FuhqPAy87NK2

What to expect: We will meet at the parking lot at 9:00am, sign waivers, break up into smaller groups and hand out tools for the various maintenance areas identified and be heading out to start working by 9:30. Groups will carpool up to their assigned area with tools. You should expect to work rain or shine for approximately 4 hours. Weather can be variable this time of year so check the forecast and dress accordingly.

We’ll have coffee graciously provided by Stanley Bercovitz Roaster/Owner of Fresh Roast Small Batch Roasting (the only local small batch electric roasted coffee) and donuts in the morning along with beer, non-alcoholic beverages, and sandwiches for lunch after we’re done.

What to bring: Lunch(if sandwiches aren’t your jam), plenty of water, snacks, and any other clothing/protection you’d want when doing landscaping type work(digging, raking, cutting/sawing, etc). Tools are provided but you are welcome to bring your own if you’ve got a favorite.

What to wear:

  • Boots
  • Sturdy work gloves (more than one pair is a good idea)
  • A light, long sleeved shirt
  • Rain gear as appropriate for the weather
  • Eye protection is recommended (eye glasses, safety glasses, etc.)
  • A hard hat or your bike helmet if you don’t have one
