Where does my support go?
Membership, sponsorship, and donations fund the vast majority of NWTA trail projects and programming. If it weren’t
for your generosity and the generosity of our community, we wouldn’t have trails and we wouldn’t have a collective voice for trails.
Your contributions support:
Programming. NWTA offers a vast array of mountain bike and off-road cycling clinics and social rides for all ages and abilities. We partner with Portland Parks & Recreation to bring meaningful youth programs to communities around the city, and specific programs offer a welcoming space for underserved and underrepresented riders to feel welcome and belong to the greater mountain bike community. Donations and membership directly support the expenses for all of NWTA’s programs, clinics, and social rides.
Trails. We use funds to purchase tools for trail work days, maintain our machines, and support Trail Sustainability Institute classes and clinics. Donors, members, and sponsors are quite literally putting tools in the hands of volunteers to build new trails and maintain our over 250 miles of trails and bike parks we officially steward.
Access. Advocacy is a pillar of why NWTA was founded in 1985 as PUMP (Portland United Mountain Pedalers). Over the last 35 years, NWTA has advocated for more places to ride bikes on trails. Membership, donor, and sponsor dollars go to work to advocate for cycling access to always be part of the discussion around our parks and open spaces throughout the region.
