TSI Advanced Trail School: Trail Building Start to Finish – 2/21

February 21 @ 9:00 am 3:00 pm

Join NWTA’s Trail Sustainability Institute (TSI) for an Advanced Trail School that covers the soup to nuts of trail building!

Are you curious about how to build a trail from start to finish? Join NWTA’s Trail Sustainability Institute (TSI) for an Advanced Trail School that will take volunteers through the process of determining where to place a trail, all the way through to finished single track.

What are we doing?: The day will involve sustainable trail placement, flagging, considering sightlines, corridor clearing, establishing tread, determining drainage considerations, re-naturalizing disturbed surroundings and finishing work.

What to bring:

  • Warm clothing and extra layers.
  • Rain jacket (and rain pants if you have them and the weather calls for it): It’s February in the PNW, odds are high it will rain, but that doesn’t stop us from digging!
  • Gloves (waterproof are best): It wouldn’t hurt to bring an extra pair, too.
  • Sturdy shoes
  • Helmet or hard hat (required)
  • Eye protection
  • Water
  • Snacks and lunch

Any necessary tools will be provided. You are not required to bring any of your own.
