Cascade Locks Dig Day #3 – 5/13

May 13, 2023 @ 9:30 am 2:00 pm

Our third work party out at the brand new CLIMB system in the Columbia Gorge National Scenic Area

NWTA and the Cascade Locks team are excited to offer our trail stewards and volunteers an opportunity to participate in a challenging hand-build for a section of the new trails at Cascade Locks, south of I-84. The work will entail building new trail with lots of challenging rock work.

If you got a tool (shovel, hoe, loppers, handsaw, or rock bar) you like, feel free to bring it. Otherwise I’ll have a decent number of tools in my truck and a lot of the work we can do with hands.

What to bring:

  • Head protection (hard hat or bike helmet)
  • Work gloves,
  • Eye protection
  • Sturdy footwear
  • Lunch, snacks and water
  • Whatever clothing you need to feel comfortable in the weather +/- 10 degrees and maybe some rain.

Where to meet:

We’re able to park on the side of the road and then walk less than 100 yards into the woods to get to the trail.

Eventbrite doesn’t do well with locations without official addresses, so here’s a pin in Google Maps: https://maps.app.goo.gl/RFGkRgfphz66rvxc7

Look for my gold Tacoma with a green camper and the #letnwtahelp banner hanging from the tailgate.

We’ll starts congregating and socializing at 9:30. The safety talk will begin promptly at 10:00 am. We’ll wrap up at 2pm with refreshments from Hopworks, Liquid Death, and more.

Email [email protected] for if you have any questions.
