Cascade Locks Trail System Spring Campout and Trail Work Party – 6/23-25

This event merges trail work, group rides, and camping, making for a memorable MTB social event. —Building community as we build trail

Objective: To build a new trail in the Columbia Gorge near Cascade Locks. When completed it will be a 15-mile trail that winds its way through an amazing forest on Forest Service land. 

Meeting Location: Wyeth Campground next to the Wyeth Trailhead at 750 Herman Creek Rd. Cascade Locks, OR 97014.

All ages and skill levels are welcome.

Bikes are not necessary for the work party, but you are welcome to bring them if you want to ride the trails afterward. You will not be able to see your vehicle & you will want to be sure to secure your bike.

What to bring for the work part:

* Work clothes: Light long sleeve shirt, Long Pants (no shorts), Boots, Gloves, Eye Protection & Gloves

* Jacket (be prepared)

* Hard hat or bike helmet (mandatory)

* Water & Snacks

NWTA will have tools will available, but please bring your favorite tread tool if you have one (rakes, McLeod, rouge hoe, loppers)

Campout details:

NWTA has reserved large group sites at the Wyeth Campground for volunteers to stay FREE. These sites can accommodate up to 18 vehicles (must pre-register with the NWTA ‘campout’ option). If you are interested in camping and would like to rent your own site, you can make your reservation at https://www.recreation.gov/camping/campgrounds/122940

Food will not be provided for Friday night campers (BYOB & BYOF)

On Saturday, NWTA and our generous sponsors will provide a BBQ social for our hard-working volunteers.

PET OWNERS: NWTA will have a group site within the public campground. If you bring your pet, know that you cannot leave them unattended at the campground. Due to the trail’s steep hillside & narrow terrain, we DO NOT recommend that they join you while working on the trail.

Please bring firewood if you can.

This will be a large event and space will be limited.
