New Trail Corridor Clearing and Brushback of Existing Trails at Stub – 6/23

June 23 @ 10:00 am 3:00 pm

Help us clear the corridor of a proposed new downhill trail. We also need to do brushback work on Shoofly and Crazy Train.

Corridor Clearing

We have proposed a new downhill trail off of lower Shoofly and would like to get an early jump on it by clearing the corridor so we can start the real work once the trail is approved. We will be mostly moving sections of downed logs and cutting back overgrowth. We will not be cutting back ferns, oregon grape, or other plants.

Shoofly/Crazy Train Trail Brush Back

This spring has brought a lot of growth to the ferns and other vegation in the park. We will also be brushing back the trails with gas powered weed eaters and follow up with gas powered blowers to make sure the existing trail corridor is clear and visible.

10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Meet at the far end of the Hill Top parking lot.

Trail work will last approximately 5 hours, wrapping up at 3:00. We will have beer afterwards.

What To Bring:

Work clothes: Light long sleeve shirt, long pants (no shorts), boots, eye protection, and gloves

Jacket (be prepared)

Hard hat or bike helmet (mandatory)

Water

Snacks

Bike – Bring your bike to ride back to the area where we will be working.

Safety meeting promptly starts at 10 a.m. Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure that you are adequately checked in. We work in all weather, so come prepared for the elements, whatever they may be (and change of clothes in the car for when we finish).
