Portland Parks Dig Day – 4/19

Join NWTA and Portland Parks & Recreation in completing important trail work projects from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.!

Join NWTA and Portland Parks & Recreation in completing important trail work projects from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Portland’s Powell Butte Nature Park. No experience necessary! Youth participants (under 18) welcome with adult supervision (waivers required by parent/guardian).

Wear sturdy close-toed shoes, long pants, and long-sleeved shirts. Bring rain gear and/or sun gear, a hat, a filled water bottle, and snacks. Instruction, tools and gloves otherwise provided. You will be walking up to 2 miles away from the meeting location and restrooms, so please be ready to hike. Be sure to arrive on time, or you may miss the group.

The tools we will be using for the event includes grubbers, McLeod’s and shovels to armor the trail which is improve wet or muddy sections of trail. We will be using wall rock to build up a section of trail that is constantly wet. We also will be clearing and adding drains for water to get off the trail.
