KNOW YOUR CAPABILITIES
Rider Experience: Intermediate/Advanced with at least 2-4 years of riding on dirt trails
You are already very comfortable riding a bike on “Blue” and may be riding parts of more technical “Black” trails, and over most of whatever features come along, 8-12” high, at least downhill. You can stand and coast confidently on level pedals for entire sections of trail, and they can shift gears and corner comfortably. You may be starting to jump and drop some features and want to learn what to do with more technical terrain and build confidence on tricky corners and berms, and steep sections You can easily ride 2-4 miles or more on a trail or bike path.
During this class: Riders will continue to improve their balance over varying and more technical terrain, brake and corner even quicker, and shift before it’s too late. They’ll learn to climb, descend and ride both faster and at incredibly slow speeds with more confidence. They’ll have more fun riding technical terrain including steep sections, tricky switchbacks, technical climbs, and more.
Bike: A mountain bike, preferably full suspension with platform pedals, two-hand brakes front and back, a seat that can move up and down, and is in good working condition. Single speeds are OK but a bike with gears will be more fun on the climbs.
