Trails Sister’s Intermediate Cornering Clinic at Sandy Ridge on 5/24
May 24, 2022 @ 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Trail Sisters! Improve your cornering skills in a fun, supportive environment.
About this event
When it comes to mountain biking, cornering is a fundamental skill that is key to making progress in our riding ability. Join NWTA Certified Instructors Allie and Nancy for an evening of skill-building, riding, and FUN. This NW Trail Sister’s event is open to all who identify as female and non-binary.
KNOW YOUR CAPABILITIES
At an intermediate level, you are able to confidently shift gears, brake safely, and navigate your bike over small rocks, roots, and uneven terrain. Riding for 2 hours (with breaks) is doable for you.
For this clinic, we will be riding uphill with roughly 700 feet of elevation gain on a paved road for about 1.5 miles and will descend an uneven trail that will require you to navigate over small rocks and roots. Please take a moment to honestly assess your current skill & fitness level to decide if this clinic/ride is for you.
Class size is limited, and pre-registration is required. Cost: $10 donation to NWTA, scholarships available (email [email protected])
What to bring:
- A mountain bike that is in good working order. If you are unsure, call your local bike shop and have them take a look at it with you.
- HELMET – required, gloves recommended
- Water/snacks
- First Aid Kit
- Layers and Rain jacket (it’s Spring in Oregon, be prepared!)
- Spare tube & multi-tool
Once registered, please sign the waiver HERE
