Voting Eligibility
Ballots will be emailed to everyone that is eligible at the opening of the election or becomes eligible (updated weekly) until the election closes. Eligibility for “Voting Members” is laid out in NWTA’s bylaws and can be summarized as follows:
- Have an Individual Membership or be the Primary Member of a Group Membership (like a Family Membership). The Primary Member submits one ballot on behalf of the Group Membership.
- Have a current Annual Membership or have been current on a Monthly Membership for the preceding 12 months.
What does the board do?
NWTA’s Board of Directors is the heartbeat of our organization. They are the ones ensuring our mission stays on track, leading the way for strategic initiatives, managing our financial resources, and keeping the wheels turning as we work to enhance the mountain biking experience for riders of all backgrounds. But the board always needs fresh ideas to help keep our trails in good shape and our community growing.
The board’s key responsibilities include:
- Mission oversight: Making sure we’re staying true to our purpose—creating a fun, safe, and sustainable environment for mountain biking in our community
- Strategic planning: Helping shape the future direction of NWTA, ensuring we grow, improve, and continue to be a leader in the mountain biking world
- Financial management: Making sure we’re financially healthy so we can invest in new trails, programs, and projects that benefit all riders
Who are we looking for?Ideal board candidates are:
- Passionate leaders who are ambassadors for NWTA’s mission and advocacy efforts
- Enthusiasts who are familiar with our trail networks and the hard work that NWTA and our land management partners put in to maintain them
- Community-minded individuals who are committed to fostering diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of our work
- Experienced problem-solvers who thrive in collaboration, whether it’s figuring out how to manage budgets or developing programs that create a more welcoming community for riders of all abilities, backgrounds, and identities
The NWTA has a board of directors that is elected annually each January. Each position has a tenure of two years, and a maximum of three terms may be served. This year, we are seeking people to fill specific roles in the organization rather than generic at-large roles.
Positions we are looking to fill, and corresponding candidates are:
- Project Planner/Coordinator
- Jonathan Barbus
- Joshua Kubisch
- Volunteer Director
- Bryce Dillon
- Grant Writer
- Rochelle Anderholm-Parsch
- Fundraising director
- Kat McKnight
- Community and Membership Development Director
- Andrea Renteria
