DIG DAY — Sandy Ridge: Little Monkey/TNT Drop and Final Jump Rework – 10/24
October 24 @ 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
The last jump at the bottom of Little Monkey and TNT have been closed all summer. Now that there is moisture in the soil it can be reworked
Join us for a Trail Maintenance day at Sandy Ridge. Trail work will last approximately 6 hours, wrapping up at 3:00 p.m.
This will be a major rework of this section that will take more than one work party. Focus for this work party will be moving and initial shaping for the rework.
Schedule:
9:00 AM Safety Meeting in Parking Lot
9:15 AM Drive up to tool storage area
9:30 AM Head out to work areas
2:00 – 2:30 PM Finish up work and head back to tool storage area
2:30 – 3:00 PM Clean tools and have after trail work refreshments
What To Bring:
Your bike (optional)
Work clothes: Light long sleeve shirt, long pants (no shorts), boots, gloves, eye protection
Jacket (be prepared)
Hard hat or bike helmet (mandatory)
Water
Snacks
Lunch
Favorite trail tool, McLeod or Rouge Hoe (We have tools, but please feel free to bring your own)
Optional: Folding Handsaw
Safety meeting promptly starts at 9:00 a.m. Please arrive 15-20 mins early to ensure that you are adequately checked in. We work in all weather (except for high wind and snow), so come prepared for the elements (and change of clothes in the car for when we finish).
