First Ride the Dirt Wave at Klootchy Creek a resounding success!

What a race weekend at the Coast, and what great weather to kick off the first ever Ride the Dirt Wave Race Series at Klootchy Creek.

On Saturday, there were guided rides, a Transition bike demo and SRAM tent, a beer garden and a food truck. On Sunday, 71 racers did a two-run enduro course timed by Eclectic Edge Racing, followed by food, beer, music, a raffle, and podium presentations. It was a great crowd with a mix of genders, ages, experience and bikes.

The entire NWTA Klootchy Creek team and the race organizers were over the moon with the turnout and the volunteer support. The team from Ride the Dirt Wave — an OBRA sanctioned race series — was phenomenal. The event was family and dog friendly, and a portion of the beer proceeds are coming back to support the Klootchy trails!

Most of the racers were from out of town and had never experienced the amazing Klootchy Creek trails. It was so rewarding to have more people learn about the trails.

HUGE thanks to the NWTA Klootchy Creek team, race coordinator Daniela Crowder of Ride Oregon, the Oregon Coast Visitors Association, Lewis & Clark Timberlands, and Nuveen Natural Capital Management.
