How and when did you first get involved with NWTA?

I was involved with PUMP in 2006, joined the board in 2009 and was part of the rebranding as NWTA

What made you decide to re-join the NWTA board?

The main reason to help facilitate communication between Friends of Gateway Green, NWTA and Parks and Rec. The time was right for me to be able to donate time and offer my skills and experiences to help NWTA.

What part of NWTA’s mission resonates with you; what are your plans to help move this forward?

Creating, enhancing and protecting riding opportunities. I want to help to create and enhance riding opportunities close to Portland. We have a passionate community and want to help grow this by creating more accessibility to ride.

When did you first start mountain biking and what was your first bike?

I started riding mountain bikes in 1994 and my first bike was a GT Richter 8.0.

What do you love about mountain biking?

Getting away from EVERYTHING. Finding that inner tranquility as I try to become one with the trail and spending time with other like minded people (and dogs!).

Favorite place to ride?

Has to be Whistler…. love Black Rock, the trails around Hood River, Sandy Ridge, Gateway Green…..

What do you do during the day that pays the bills?

I love to make stuff, wood is one of my favorite mediums.

What song or type of music do you listen to to get pumped up for a ride or for a dig day?

90’s grunge brings it all bike to where mountain biking began for me, but anything with a ripping beat works!

Tell us something not mountain bike related about yourself.

I was the mascot for Ferrum College and got to run around in the Panther costume for all the football and basketball games 🙂
