Eleven months after our last organized work party at Sandy Ridge, a group of 25 volunteers gathered on a rainy & overcast Saturday (November 14th), ready to give back to the beloved trail system. With our new COVID-19 protocols, volunteers traveled up the paved road to easy access to the trails in their own vehicles.
Work included clearing drains, trimming back any overgrown canopy that was encroaching on to the trail. A small but hearty group worked on the large drainage problem on Flow Motion. The group removed a large rock which diverted water back into the trail & installed water mitigation methods. Thank you to the volunteers for all of your hard work!
With the new state of Oregon restrictions regarding COVID, we will be pausing our organized efforts at Sandy Ridge until we learn that it is safe again. In the meantime, if you are interested in helping out at Sandy Ridge, email the stewardship team at [email protected]
These trails are located on Bureau of Land Management property. Northwest Trail Alliance is the official stewardship partner that cares for the trails at Sandy Ridge.
