On Saturday, February 5th, 13 folks gathered to continue tread work that was started in December on the .35 mile Gales Creek re-route in the Tillamook State Forest. In 3 hours, we finished roughing in the entire line and removed a couple of stumps – one with mechanical advantage and one with old-fashioned two-handed chopping. It was a full-day success in the Tillamook forest, involving a pre-work ride and post-work bonfire with drinks and hot food. Huge thanks to NWTA for providing drinks of all sorts, snacks, and tools – and a big thank you to Dan Sprouse and the Cyclepath NW crew for bringing chili, beer, and a super-strong crew. I just hope that we get to see Wally the dog continuing to test the boundaries of what a dog should be eating.
