Valentine’s Dig Day Recap: Trail Love at Rocky Point

Volunteers Improve Flow and Safety on Pillow Talk

On February 14, nine volunteers spent their Valentine’s Day giving Pillow Talk at Rocky Point some well-deserved attention. The crew focused on improving both flow and durability across multiple sections of the trail.

Work began on the top section before the first steep, where volunteers fixed ruts and repaired an existing berm. They also stabilized a crumbling bench to improve rider safety and long-term tread integrity. Near the entrance, the team built a new berm on a flat corner and adjusted the trail line to widen the radius of a left-hand turn, creating smoother, more predictable flow.

Midway down the trail, the crew repaired a worn jump landing and addressed additional rutting. Before-and-after improvements in that section were especially noticeable, with a more stable and rideable surface replacing previously damaged tread.

Technical Trail Work with Community Spirit

This dig day highlighted the power of skilled, focused volunteer effort. The improvements helped mitigate erosion and reduce future maintenance needs.

One of the highlights of the day was a homemade tiramisu brought by a crew lead to celebrate volunteers who chose to spend their Valentine’s Day building trails. The group also welcomed a volunteer new to the area who previously volunteered at Red Bull Rampage, bringing experience and enthusiasm to the build.

Thank you to everyone who showed up to give the trails some love.
