Cyclepath fuels a small army of trail workers at Sandy Ridge

A small but dedicated group of volunteers arrived at the Sandy Ridge parking lot early Sunday morning to a abundant amount of coffee and donuts, generously provided by event sponsor Cyclepath PDX.  With the weather forecast in flux, a number of registered participants never arrived, but we still had over a dozen folks who honored their commitments ready to help us give back to the trails.

We split into 2 groups to take care of projects on the lower trails. One did a much needed rebuild of a berm on Lower Hide & Seek. Pavers were installed for stability & the berm was built up to withstand the amount of traffic these trails get.

The 2nd group worked on the last switchback on Laura’s Line and installed a berm to maximize our fun as we exit the system. Once the building was done the group worked their way up the trail clearing debris & drains & improving sightlines.

After the work was done we were greeted by the Cyclepath PDX crew with a yummy BBQ & adult beverages provided by Lagunitas Brewing. BIG THANKS to all the hardworking volunteers.

Special thanks goes  to Bill, Marty & Garrett from Cyclepath for not only feeding us but working along side us to help get these projects done.

Our 2019 organized work parties at Sandy Ridge have now come to an end. Thank you to all who came out to give back to the trails. Keep an eye on the NWTA Calendar for our 2020 Spring Sandy Ridge Dig Day Dates.
