NWTS Tackle Switchbacks at Growlers Gulch

Sunday February 9th provided a much needed, rare, sunny day. Not only did we take advantage of it, we basked in it! What a great day to hold a clinic!

Switchbacks can be tricky no matter which direction you are riding them. 20 women (w/t/f) had the opportunity to learn the specific steps to take to navigate through each turn. We had the awesome pleasure of learning from guest instructor Kat Plakos. Not only did Kat guide everyone through successfully tackling each turn, she took the time to review ‘Active Riding Position’. These skills come in handy whether you are descending or ascending, dodging or attacking obstacles and are the foundation for solid riding skills. Thank you Kat for sharing your talents with us!

Shout out to Proper Cycle Werks for providing bike checks and adjustments. Since day one, PCW has been instrumental in making these rides and clinics happen!

Our next Intermediate Skills Clinic and Ride in April will cover Log-Overs.

March’s Beginner Skills Clinic and Ride will be Switchbacks as well.

Stay tuned for both, registration will be open soon!
