Weekly Regional Roundup

It’s been a while, but this week has way too much going on for us not to share some highlights with you. So, here’s your NWTA Weekly Roundup of all the MTB-related happenings locally and a little further afield.  Check out our Community Calendar for longer range planning. We hope to see you on the trail!

*Inclusion in this list does not denote an NWTA connection; we’re here to spread the word for all our friends and partners across the region.

NOTE: Unless a group ride indicates that it is an NWTA, NW Trail Sisters or Dusty Dads & Muddy Moms ride, it is not affiliated with the NWTA.  Please be prepared to self-support on any group ride or event that you attend and be mindful of the skill level required to participate. If you’re unsure of your level, check out our skill level guide as a starting point.

Saturday, 7/28

Race: Team Dirt and Mudslinger are teaming up to put on an XC race at Alsea Falls.  There’s still time to register if you get on it ASAP! Not a bad place to stay cool during this heat wave.

Alternatively, you can head north and hit up the Raging River MTB Festival.  XC Race on Saturday and enduro on Sunday, plus you get to check out this brand new system!

Sunday, 7/29

Ride! Head on out to Hood River and join the NW Trail Sisters for their intermediate+ July ride.  This adventure along the Upper Cooks, Cooks and Dog River trails will cover about 16 miles of trail with 5K of descent! Did we mention we’ll be shuttling and doing some pre-ride yoga?

Demo: Join Evo for their Dirt & Dinner Series – a fun-filled day of demo bikes, hero dirt and tasty meals! Evo will hook you up with a 2018 demo (Evil, Transition, Santa Cruz, Juliana or Devinci), tote you to and from Sandy Ridge, feed you while you’re up there and treat you to dinner and drinks at Revelry back in town.  Bonus: They just lowered the cost of this day of fun so it’s $30 cheaper than it would be to just demo a bike!

Monday, 7/30

Ride! Join River City’s Mondays of July women’s rides.  Meet at the Sandy Ridge trailhead at 10. Need a ride? Want more details? Contact River City’s Lisa Luna.

Clinic: Do your kids need something to do this week?  Check out the Lumberyard’s week-long day camps for kids ages 6-14.
