We had a remarkable event on Wednesday, December 13 at Hopworks Brewery with our friends at Forest Park Conservancy!
Willamette Week’s annual Give!Guide (G!G) campaign raises funds for local nonprofits. G!G has raised more than $56 million for hundreds of local nonprofits since its inception in 2004. To support the community, the grassroots campaign asks that nonprofit organizations participating in the campaign forge official business and organization partnerships.
NWTA values the community that the Give!Guide builds to support all the great organizations in our Portland metro communities, and we’re excited to have Forest Park Conservancy (FPC) as our official 2023 G!G nonprofit partner. FPC has participated in Give!Guide quite a few times, so they’re mentoring NWTA staff as we embark on the 2023 campaign together.
Outside of the G!G, NWTA partners with FPC and Portland Parks on trail maintenance projects for Firelane 5 in Forest Park. Firelane 5 is one of the most popular multi-use trails in Forest Park, and our ongoing work to improve drainage and erosion has had a tremendous positive impact on long-term environmental sustainability in Forest Park.
Our in-person event, generously hosted by NWTA sponsor Hopworks Brewery, was a resounding success. Hundreds of dollars were raised, and many meaningful conversations were had, setting the stage for a great partnership between our organizations in the future. NWTA is excited for what 2024 will bring. Thank you, FPC!
