Gales Creek Trail Sees Major Improvements

Ten volunteers headed out to Tillamook State Forest on March 7 and made significant progress along the Gales Creek Trail.

Over a Mile of Trail Improved

The group tackled more than a mile of trail, focusing on brushing, treadwork, and drainage improvements. Heavy brush was cleared back to open up the corridor, debris was removed from the tread, and key drainage issues were addressed to keep water moving off the trail.

Improving Flow, Visibility, and Sustainability

This work directly improves the riding and hiking experience on Gales Creek. Better sightlines help users anticipate what’s ahead, while a more defined tread keeps riders and hikers on the intended trail path. Addressing drainage is equally critical; reducing standing water helps prevent long-term trail damage and keeps the trail more usable year-round.

Thanks to Our Volunteers and Supporters

A big thank you to everyone who came out and put in the work, and to Cyclepath PDX for supporting the crew with food and good times throughout the day
