NW Trail Sisters Cornering Clinic Re-Cap

After a few weeks of event cancellations due to snow & ice, the sun gods shone down on 17 women on Sunday 03.10 for the Women’s Beginner Level Cornering Clinic at Growlers Gulch.

Clinics are a perfect way to build new skills or even sharpen existing skills and this event was no exception. Focusing primarily on three objectives: looking ahead, leading with your shoulders and keeping an aggressive stance with knees and arms bent- everyone rolled down the Slalom Trail, visibly improving with each trip down the trail.

Cornering skills transfer to just about every aspect of mountain biking; those skills were immediately put to use on the ride that followed the clinic. Many of the riders commented on the difference looking further ahead made in getting over significant roots and even planning ahead on shifting gears.

This ride and clinic was made possible by a fantastic collaboration effort between NW Trail Alliance, Proper Cycle Werks and ride leader April Silva and her support crew Susie, Christy and Nancy.

Great things happen when we work together, extraordinary things happen when we work together, while riding bikes!
