Gorge 400 Rehabilitation and Camping Work party

Written by Bob Carey, TSI Instructor

Please come join us Friday evening, May 20th, and Saturday, May 21st, at the Wyeth Campground for a fun-filled weekend with NWTA to breathe new life into the Gorge 400 trail. This is a unique opportunity to work on a legacy trail set in a picturesque location along the Columbia River.

Camping is optional but we hope to see you out for both!

On Saturday, April 9th, fourteen volunteers from Northwest Trail Alliance joined together to start the rehabilitation process of the Gorge 400 trail just outside Cascade Locks.

The group’s goal for the day was pre- planning for the campout and work party. In addition we hardened the tread and hand imbricated rock over a spring in the trail. We created a ford over Gray’s Creek and realigned the tread over an ephemeral stream in three crossings.

We look forward to seeing you out there!
