Klootchy Creek Update and Events

Written by Steven Blakesley

We don’t complain much about the weather on the coast, but this is the wettest spring that we’ve seen in a long time at Klootchy Creek!  Unusually heavy rain has slowed down some projects, and affected some existing trails. We are looking forward to some warmer dryer days ahead for those May flowers. In the meantime, here’s our update.

NEW TRAILS

We are very close to opening our new intermediate jump line. It’s called “Party Wave” and you will love it – it’s flowy and fast. The builders have about 100′ left that needs hand finishing – once we get 3 or 4 dry days in a row, we’ll be in business. Watch for an invitation to the opening day!

We are also finishing work on Upper Upper Low Tide, and Upper Low Tide.  The dirt is still soft on those new trails but they’ll be perfect later in the summer.

Finally, we are working on a true beginner trail at Klootchy. It can be reached either from the first part of the Greenwood climbing trail, or from an easy road climb. Short and sweet and perfect for new riders and little shredders to session!
