On Saturday (12/4), 13 intrepid volunteers braved the cold and rainy weather to work on much-needed maintenance on the top of Highline. The rain guts and brake bumps were smoothed out from the start, along with adding and buffing drainage. Several berms were added to help with the flow of the trail to avoid braking and skidding on previously flat corners. In the end, an extra credit project was done to convert a small drop-off/lip into a fun little tabletop. Two of the volunteers brought their bikes and were able to do some quality control on the day’s work! The crew did amazing work despite the wetter weather. Half of the crew were brand new to trail work, and some had never ridden at Rocky Point. It was a very productive day that added to the stoke at RPT.
Join us on Saturdays through the winter and into the spring as we build and maintain the trails at Rocky Point. The “Saturday Sessions” are small-scale work events that are a great place to practice and grow your trail-building skills. Come out and help create the future of mountain biking in Portland.
REGISTER HERE for the next Saturday Session on 12/11.
