Trail Sisters held their first bike maintenance clinic of the year at Sellwood Cycles—graciously hosted by shop manager and mechanic, Brenna.
The topic was troubleshooting shifting issues trailside, and after a Q&A discussion, everyone got to do some fun hands-on learning. There were three stations set up to practice removing the rear wheel, replacing the master link, using the barrel adjuster, and removing the derailleur hanger. All 25 attendees had plenty of time to practice each skill.
It was a great opportunity to demystify the drivetrain, get comfortable with tools, connect with fellow riders, and ultimately boost confidence on the trail.
Thanks to Brenna and her lovely assistants, Sophie and Kaya. And thanks to Sellwood for offering their space and giving everyone a generous coupon toward their next mountain bike service.
The next women’s bike maintenance clinic will be on February 13 at Metropolis Cycles where they’ll be teaching more trailside tips and tricks.
