Youth Access to Gateway Green Improving

EASIER RIDE-TO-RIDE ON THE EASTSIDE

The I-205 undercrossing, a bike and pedestrian connection between the west side of I-205 and Gateway Green, will make the park more easily accessible by riders — youth in particular — from surrounding neighborhoods. It’s one of 13 different Gateway District cycling projects PBOT (Portland Bureau of Transportation) plans to complete by 2019 with the aid of non-profit advocacy group People For Bikes.

People For Bikes will provide Portland — one of 10 cities selected for “The Big Jump” — the equivalent of $600,000 in technical support over three years, as well as an additional $50,000 in matching funds or financial commitments from local organizations.
